Living in Paradise and Miracles!
HI THERE!!
I am still in love with this place and my just grows every single day. Vigo is the most beautiful place. Galicia in general is just stunning. Today we took a ferry to las Islas Cíes, one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been. Walking through the forest with the sweet smell of pine, mixed with the salty smell of the sea. I am just soaking it all in. We hiked up to a Faro (lighthouse) and like usual, every time I go to a lighthouse, or somewhere beautiful, it is foggy hahaha. But I really enjoyed it and it just gives me the excuse to come back. :) Thankfully it cleared up and it was breathtaking.
Walking down we just thought, ahh so this is what we would have been seeing walking up. But it is also a life lesson, that often times the most beautiful blessings come after a good hike in the fog and then waiting with faith and patience. But they come!
Another week of miracles. I don´t know how God could be so generous. I love being a missionary!
Monday night, we went and visited Margarita and her daughter Alice. They are darling! And I feel like they are one of many reasons that I am here in Vigo. They have been with missionary since 2013, but just don´t understand the need to be baptized. But we did my favorite example with fire and an erasable pen and they are working towards being baptized on the 15th of September! Alice, the little girl picked it. I love them so much. They are reading and they are praying and we have an army of people helping as well. The Hansons are the senior couple here and they go read in the Book of Mormon with them at least once a week. It is truly amazing how the spirit puts words right in my mouth. In every lesson and phone call. When we called to remind them about church, she was sounding quite floja, but I just testified how it is a protection and she immediately changed, ´Okay, we will be there!´ Then the next day, she said, ´Thank you, Read. You are so right. It is a protection and that is exactly what I needed to hear.´ The spirit is so amazing.
Pedro continues to progress. He moved is date to the 15th and he was sad, but he had to work on the 8th, but he is thrilled and working on inviting all of his friends. He read the Book of Mormon for over 3 hours. He is so great.
We had intercambios and I was with Hermana Montero. She is from Portugal, and is so driven! She took our teaching in Zone Conference about creating a personal vision and setting goals. She is going to love being part of Barcelona. I learned so much from her. She just gives her whole heart to the people and said the most beautiful, heartfelt prayer to bless this woman that is going through such a hard time.
I love Hermana Palmer, we just laugh and laugh. And we work. Hard!
Well I love you all so very much, and I want you all to know that I know God lives, loves and answers our prayers. He has a plan and though we may be hiking through with fog, the sun will come. It is my favorite thing in the world to watch people feel that light and be changed by it. I know I have been changed by Him.
Have the best week, and don´t be trunky, k? I still got 2 weeks!
:)
