Big news!
Wednesday morning, bright and early, I will fly all the way across spain to serve my last bit in Vigo. A city on the opposite coastline about 20 KM from the boarder of portugal to finish my mission. CRAZY!
Saturday morning Hermana Galli called us in for a little meeting. She called us her unofficial counselors and then President Galli came in and asked our advice on a few Hermanas in the mission. No I am not an Ayudanta, but it was sure a great opportunity to learn from the Galli's. I love them and have grown quite close to them.
President informed us that Galicia offically became part of our mission saturday morning, then saturday evening we got a call from President informing me that I will be going to whitewash the area of Vigo with Hermana Palmer who was originally in the Malaga mission to help blend in a peice of the Madrid mission. I am so excited and I hear that it is GORGEOUS.
Of course it is sad to leave my dear family here in Hospitalet and Hermana Hargis but I am so thrilled for the adveture and the wonderful opportunity God has given me to serve in Vigo! I know its God's will.
In zone conference two months ago when they anounced that it would become a part of our mission, Hermana Hargis and I both pointed to the map and felt that I would be finishing my mission there.
So don't send anything to the mission home, because I won't get until I go home. Haha.
As far as the work here, SO MANY MIRACLES.
I had a great night with Hermana Mecham and took her running in the morning. It was so fun! She did great!! And shared her testimony in front of everyone at Noche de Barrio! I was reenergized being with the new missionaries! We in our last minutes of the night, met a Brazilian woman who is so prepared to receive the restored gospel. After meeting with her on Friday she accepted a fecha for the 8th of September! She is working hard to give up smoking and drinking! Go Ivete!!
A bird pooped on me and we had nothing to clean it off and our friend was waiting in the park, but God put recent convert Miguel right there and he helped us out. We had a good hard laugh, but all in all, I am just so grateful for even the little miracles.
We had a cita with Alberto, who continues to amazing with his person drive for reactivation, and Alvaro, then they were so excited to be part of the work that they stayed with us the entire night and want to spend every waking minute preaching the gospel with us! It was so fun!
Virginia got work on Sundays for the week... so we are still working there. She will be baptized, but with a bit more time.
Our beloved ward member Omar passed away this week. It was so sad to watch the cancer rob him of everything, but he fought with faith. We are really close with his family. Two of his sons are less active and it is amazing to see how this is bringing about miracles in their family.
As I was sitting there in the funeral, I was just praying to know how I could mourn with those that mourn. It was right then that I saw Tania, she is the girlfriend of one of the son´s and there wasn´t room for her in the front row, so I hopped up and sat next to her in the second and was able to hold her hand and give her a bit of support. I felt so strong of the love God has for her. She came with the family for the first time ever yesterday. I hope that her heart may be open to receive the joy and peace only the gospel can bring.
I have been really pondering and focusing on diligence and obedience and giving everything I have every single moment! And every time I push harder in those moments when I don´t want, a miracle ALWAYS happens.
I invite you all to give just a little bit more and PRAY for the opportunity to sacrifice and to serve someone in your path. Share the gospel with them! Open your mouth and you will be surprised what the spirit can do with a simple testimony.
I love you all!
Talk to you in Vigo!
