Power of the Spirit
Another miraculous week!
I love how every single day here I look back at the end of the day and I just cannot explain how much God is in every detail of the work. I feel the power of the spirit as I teach and testify. I know that because I diligently study and strengthen my testimony every morning, that the spirit is able to call all things to my remembrance. It is incredible.
For example. Yesterday my companion was sick, so as she slept I studied about the difference between the Light of Christ and the Holy Ghost. Then she woke up and we got to work. We passed by an agnostic man that we had met on the street, and he welcomed us in and invited his female roommate to come join. He asked how we recognize when we are connected with God, and then she asked well when I used to pray I felt like it was just a type of meditation and that it was like to herself to figure things out. And that is when the spirit drew on my studies and I was able to explain that yes she felt that because she is a daughter of God and that she has the light of Christ. They both ate up what we told them. And when we pulled out the book of mormon they were thrilled. She said, "That's the best gift you could bring! I want to read that. We are trying to read all religious scripture here." They also want to watch conference! They both committed to pray and to act on the response. And he said the closing prayer. With the cigarettes on the side table these two young agnostics committed to change their life.
I learned how to cook the Dominican Bandera this week. And Carolina is doing amazing! (She was our marvelous teacher!) She has had a hard week with her family situation, but we surprised her with a heart attack and she just loved that. We also took her to a noche de hogar (family home evening) last night and finished the plan of salvation. She loved it and accepted a baptismal invitation and is working on praying, and reading for her answer.
Eduardo and Ivan haven't been responding this week. We think it is because they are both swamped with work.
A contact with two 17 year old kids in a crowd turned into a family of 3 welcoming us in with open arms. Coincidence? Absolutely not. Miracle. Gabriela, and her 17 year old son Rodrigo are incredibly prepared. She said we can come anytime we like and begged us to teach more. We are thrilled to go back tomorrow to help them be an eternal family!
Hermana Ney is doing great! She is finding the joy that comes from the work! She is a remarkable person to work with. She powers through the hard times. She struggles to know how to teach the doctrine, let alone in Spanish, but she knows a lot more than she gives herself credit for, so I am helping her to push out of her comfort zone, because that is where the growth is. I just adore her!
I know God lives and He is in every detail of our lives. Look for Him, trust Him. And do everything you can to love, serve, follow Him. And SHARE His love with all you can!
Love you! Thank you so much for everything!
