I am the most spoiled Daughter of God on the face of the earth! Thank you for all the love, support and birthday wishes. I had the most marvelous day, a simple, but the cutest note from my companion, an investigator at church!! Medio dia (Midday) with Susana and her Argentinian/Italian family that made spaghetti like it should be made, and an ice cream cake. Then a surprise cake from our ward mission leader and his marvelous mom, then a yummy peruvian lamb dish and a moose cake from another family of members that just feels like family to me at a Noche de Hogar (Family Home Evening) in which our investigator Carolina came and also brought a cake hahaha. I just am so full of love I think I'll explode!
Today we went up to a world war two bunker as a zone for the sunrise and studies, then a member took our district up to Monseratt where we were able to peak into the cathedral, see the monks at work, and a boys choir sing like angels and do my favorite thing, HIKE A MOUNTAIN!! I love Hiking!!! It was marvelous and absolutely breathtaking the view!
We received our smart phones yesterday and a new way to plan that is focused on the individual and their day to day progression and I am so thrilled! The work is hastening!!
I love being a missionary more than ever! I am so blessed to be able to be an instrument in the Lords hands to be tuned and to share the music of the gospel with the people here!
Jerson! He is incredible. The other Hermanas gave him a Book of Mormon in the contact and he read the introduccion to be prepared for the visit! We have tried for weeks to get a visit, but they have all fallen through. We had time and "happened" (definitely God's hand) to be outside of his house, so we rang the timbre, and he came down and we had a powerful L0. He open up to us about how he believes that there has to be something. He also talked about how his grandma has always taught him the power of faith. He used the example of Peru's futbol team. It has been 36 years since they have gotten into the World Champeons league (if I remember right) and how he recognized that if he doesn't have faith in his team, how can he expect them to believe in themselves. So he decided to put it into practice and he prayed for them at the end of the lesson (haha) and... THEY WON!!! He also told us about how nothing makes him happier than serving and some experiences he has had giving away excess food at Christmas or even the clothes in his closet. He is progressing rapidly and accepted the baptism invite and is reading! He came and played futbol and already has made friends in the ward. He really wanted to come Sunday, but his dad was in the hospital.
Rosa! 73 and very sick. Has had missionaries for years, and this week we finally got to meet her after weeks of moving the visit. We got there to serve, and she opened the door and told us how it was like opening the doors of heaven and welcoming in angels! She told us how the Book of Mormon literally makes her feel lighter and how she wants to be Baptized!!! She picked the 25th, as in this weekend, (Happy Birthday Kins!) but with how sick she is, it looks like it will have to be in December. But she is marvelous and I am so excited for her!
Carolina is doing well too, but just struggling to let go of the comfortable and make the sacrifices to really know and follow God.
I love it here in Barcelona and just am soaking in every minute.
We had a day of contacting hardened, angry atheists, but God used that to show me how very grateful I am for the knowledge I have and the joy that comes from it! I love my Savior and am so grateful for Him, so what do I do? I put on my chapa (name tag) and get to work serving Him, and there I find the greatest joy! So what can you do? Go make someone smile and tell them of the love God has for them!
I love you all!
I'll be writing Tuesday again next week because it is transfers. Where is time going?!
Xoxo
