In L´Hospitalet we were so blessed to see 7 baptisms. We had a goal from the beginning of the year to see 24 baptisms by the 26th of June, and we got 23!! Rita was almost 24 but she didn´t have anyway of moving out so fast. And what an honor it was to be able to participate and help Shirley be baptized. She truly just glowed and was so happy all weekend! Her testimony about how good she felt was so pure and her sweet little hugs were the greatest payment there ever could be. She pertains to Barrio 1, but she is often with her Grandma which is why we were able to coordinate with the Elders for her teaching. Her whole family came to support her. Her grandma Rita was nearly baptized with her, but she will be soon!
We have been blessed with many more miracles!!
Yesterday, our friend Virginia (not the same one I´ve mentioned before) called us out of no where. Hermana Johnson had contacted her with her last companion and we have never been able to meet. She was asking for help finding a piso, and well we set a visit with her and she and her adorable 3 year old met with us in a Plaza and she accepted to be baptized on the 21st of July!! We gave her a Book of Mormon and she just treasured it. Then we invited her to come with us to a family home evening we do weekly with a strong member family to bring investigators. She loved it and all the members shared such strong testimonies. As we were messaging Virginia today she told us she had just got off work and she was excited to read a little bit before cooking and going on with her day. I am so excited for her and so grateful for the members to help welcome and nurture these precious little children of God.
Mara has been playing hard to get it seems, but we talked to her last night and reset a fecha over the phone! She has been reading and she loves the Book of Mormon and how good it makes her feel! She too is working towards the 21st!
Then Fransisco came back out of no where as well and is reading (which is HUGE!) and says that his time is coming! He is looking for other work so he can come Sundays.
As for Alonso, he let us know yesterday that he cannot continue to meet until he can put his life in order. His messages were precious as he thanked us for helping him, even though we made his life very complicated... haha. It is frustrating to see that people could be so much happier if they would just repent now! But he unfortunately has used his agency to tackle it without our help. He has every intention of doing it, and looks forward to the day when he can be forgiven of everything. He tells us how we are angels for him. It was hard to hear it, but the spirit has really just confirmed to me that it is okay. Everyone has their time and not everyone can spiritually go from rolling over to walking in a matter of weeks. I am completely confident that as he reads and prays, he will be able to repent and find the joy God has for him.
I have loved my time with Hermana Johnson! I learned so much about how to exuberate love and really help people to feel of that love. She makes everyone feel like the most important person on earth and has blessed my life by her example! I am thrilled to be reunited with my friend Hermana Hargis from my MTC district who was serving in Malaga, but will be the first to come make the merge. She was a powerful, dedicated, fun missionary in the MTC and I am sure we are going to have the best time working our hardest.
This transfer my goal is from my first prayer when I jump out of bed to my last prayer at night. I really just want to focus on the people. Praying only for them and for the hermanas in the zone and constantly seeking the revelation to guide them to Christ.
I know this is the True Church of Jesus Christ with the power to give us full access to His atonement, and I pray that all will except His great gift! So go share it!!
I love you all!
