Conference is my favorite holiday :)
Buenas tardes a todos!
Conference was my tender mercy this week.
The work is going great, but wow, definitely working hard and conference really just refilled my tank and reminded me that all I have to do is give it all to Christ and do it all for Him. I learned so much about repentance for myself and for my calling which is to preach repentance BY His spirit. I echo the testimony of Russel M Nelson and the other Apostles and General Authorities of the Book of Mormon. I have truly seen how much that book truly changes lives. Completely. And by reading, studying, and applying we become more like our savior and in turn have the most sweet JOY. I love the Book of Mormon! And I just LOOOOVED Conference!
Also the fact that Angeles and Edward came!!
Angeles is doing so so well! She admitted her shame and how she has not been doing well with her smoking, and that has why she has been so distant. But she has made a complete turn around. Activities, Conference, letting us set citas. The members just love her and are helping her so much. They got her all excited about the addiction recovery class. She is like my crazy best friend and I adore her. My favorite moment was her telling me about all she loved from conference. She went on and on about how she learned to not run so fast you forget why you are running and where you are going. She is putting God first, and the light just continues to grow in her eyes.
Edward wants to be baptized Saturday because it is his mom's birthday, but it is pending. We feel that it is very posible, but we want to be sure he is ready. He is a bit flake-y and lives is a horrible piso (no mom, we have never been, but he tells us about it. We meet in parks), but he got kicked out yesterday for something someone else that also lives there did, and I know (as I learned from Conference) that it is no coincidence, He needs to live somewhere where he can feel the spirit.
Yesterday before conference we were out in our area and I truly saw God guiding our every step. A second visit fell through BUT we found a very prepared man, and we ran into our buddist friend Qing and were able to reconnect with her, then we were walking and my very insired companion pointed to a building and asked me who lives there? I really feel we need to pass by someone who lives in that building. So we turned and outside her home, a spaniard woman named Maria Angeles was sweaping. In the beginning she kept saying that her God is not the same God. She loves the Bible, so with the spirit and with her Bible I was able to show her that yes, the very same God of the Bible sent us there to help her know Him even better. She told us how dearly she wants to quit smoking, and we told her how we can help her.
God guides every footstep, and I feel Him putting words in my mouth in the very moment. I am so grateful to be an intrument in His hands and that He is using the mission to also carve and teach me. I love Him more than anything. And I am so grateful He gave me you! I love you so very much! Thank you for everything!
