Miracles in Barcelona!
I just had the most marvelous week! We already have an excellent pool of investigators and are always finding in El Faro :) (that's our mission's nickname.)
One night we were going through the old area book and entering it into our tablets and I picked one out and it was a family from Colombia. There was a lot of papers and really warn down, so naturally I gave them a call and he invited us to come over right away, WHAT! Yes. So we did, and we taught Ivan and his beautiful 17 year old daughter Michelle. Hermana Ney was really able to connect through the language barrier and we had a great lesson and invited them to be baptized. He told us how he can see a physical difference in our countenance. "You put any other 19 year old girl next to you and there is a huge visable diffence in your appearance." I asked him if he wanted that light, and he said yes. He told us we cannot stop coming because (and this is his words:) his thoughts are wrong, and our thoughts are right, so we need to teach him. He is full of passion and excitement and we are so excited about them!
We also taught 2 others: Nancy from Ecuador and Daniel from Peru, who both have had extensive time and experience with the missionaries and both seemed more open to baptism when the invitation came around. Both still have their book of mormons, even though with Nancy it has been 12 years since her last Hermanas and Daniel has several years too.
God has big things happening here in Barcelona 3, and I am just loving every victory, big and little. One of the greatest joys has been the progression of Hermana Ney! She works so hard and I see incredible growth every day. My favorite thing is talking to her when we come out of a lesson and she tells me, "I have no idea what they said, but I felt the spirit so strong." After lessons, we just give eachother a big hug and soak in the greatest joy that comes from the greatest work!
With Stake Conference, it was hard to get to meet those in the ward, but from those we met, they are excellent. The bishop and the ward mission leader really impressed me with their envolvement and organization. I am very excited to work with them and building this part of the Lord's kingdom. We have a full week of eating citas planned with members, so that will be fun! (Pray for Hermana Read's stomach haha)
But really I just love it here, from the spanish guitarist, to the crazy metro, to the panderias and the spirit that I feel every single day!
Thank you for the prayers! Keep them coming ;)
Love you all so very much!
Hermana Read
